Furniture anti-tip devices: For a safe home with Müller Small Living

Safety begins in your own home – and it is particularly important to us at Müller Small Living. Furniture such as chests of drawers, highboards or shelves can be dangerous if used improperly, especially for children. Accidental tipping can cause serious injuries. We therefore strongly recommend that you always secure furniture to the wall with anti-tip devices.

Why furniture can tip over

Even though our furniture is designed with stability in mind, physics cannot be ignored: If the centre of gravity of a piece of furniture is shifted – for example, by opening several drawers at the same time, by a child climbing on it, or by placing heavy objects on top of it – the furniture can tip forward. It becomes particularly dangerous when children explore their surroundings out of curiosity and use drawers as a ‘ladder’.

But adults are not immune either: anyone who uses an open drawer for support when standing up or opens several compartments in a hurry also risks tipping over.

Tilt protection: a small measure with a big impact

Therefore, any tall piece of furniture or furniture with lots of drawers should be securely attached to the wall. Our furniture is prepared for this – we include the appropriate fastening materials or offer them as an option. Important: Pay attention to the type of wall you have (solid wall, plasterboard, masonry) and use the appropriate mounting materials. If in doubt, we recommend consulting a specialist company or a tradesperson.

Safe living – for young and old

Children discover their world through play and with a great deal of curiosity – this makes them more susceptible to accidents involving unsecured furniture. But even in everyday adult life, a moment of carelessness can be enough for a piece of furniture to tip over. Our recommendation: take anti-tip protection seriously – it provides reliable and lasting protection.

Our contribution to safety

At Müller Small Living, we develop furniture that is durable, functional and aesthetic – but also safe. With the right assembly, you can create not only stylish but also worry-free rooms.

Tip: When moving or repositioning furniture, the anti-tip device should always be renewed.
