Hertel & Klarhoefer
Peter Christian Hertel, born in 1968, and Sebastian Klarhöfer, born in 1966, have known each other since their school days. They studied architecture in Berlin and Venice and graduated from the Technische Hochschule Berlin in 1996 and 1994.
They created their first furniture designs while studying at the Instituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice under Aldo Rossi. In 1999, they founded their design agency Hertel & Klarhoefer.
Their team includes product designers, interior designers, prototype builders and carpenters. In the years that followed, they created furniture and accessories for well-known international brands. They define themselves as creatives who work on a design project, starting with conceptual ideas through to technical product development. From the very beginning, they were fascinated by the pulsating rhythm and creative potential of Berlin. This has influenced their work to date.
